A Glimpse at the Man Behind the Message
"PROCLAIM HOPE!" is not about me or my organization. It is about a growing movement in the Body of Christ, throughout the nation to awaken God’s people to all that Jesus is as the Son of God and to refocus everything the Church does on a more comprehensive vision of the full extent of His supremacy.
David Bryant
Formerly president of Concerts of Prayer International (COPI) and chairman of America’s National Prayer Committee, David Bryant has been defined by many as a “messenger of hope” and a “Christ-proclaimer” to the Church throughout the world over the past 35 years.
David has played a widely visible role in the emergence of an unprecedented, worldwide prayer movement by capitalizing on city-wide mass rallies; national and international conferences; training videos, seminars and manuals; development of leadership coalitions; the mentoring of younger leaders; and media outreach (both TV and radio). Many testify, however, that his key contribution to this movement always has been to help set its primary agenda: the hope of a God-given awakening among God’s people to the full extent of the supremacy of God’s Son and strategic implications of this for the renewal and mission of God’s people.
To that end, since January 2003 David Bryant has concentrated his efforts exclusively on his latest mission outreach called PROCLAIM HOPE! The ministry is fostering a “National Campaign of Hope”. Doing so, it emphasizes four major goals:
1. To proclaim a more comprehensive vision of Christ and His supremacy throughout the Church.
2. To awaken for all believers a life-changing hope focused on this larger vision of Christ and His supremacy.
3. To empower the ministry of Christians and churches by helping them recover and apply this dynamic hope in Christ so as to mobilize God’s people to share in new advances of His Kingdom.
4. To equip Christian leaders to become “Messengers of Hope” and Christ-proclaimers who are able to replicate with others the same mission: proclaim, awaken, and empower.
PROCLAIM HOPE! spreads David’s hope-filled message through a variety of outreaches: from larger gatherings called Christ Awakening Events to cast the vision widely, to small group follow-up meetings known as Christ Huddles (using specially designed curricula); from half-day Christ Roundtables designed especially for leaders (clergy and lay) to discuss the issues of Christology and the crisis of supremacy in the Church, to full-day Christ Summits that explore the issues more deeply and concentrate on equipping leaders to be Messengers of Hope, to two-day retreats called Christ Colleges that focus on strengthening the theological (Christological) foundations of the movement; from Hope For America, a national daily radio broadcast heard on over 300 stations coast-to-coast, to the publishing of books and articles on the supremacy of Christ through New Providence Publishers.
Above all, David Bryant is helping Christian leaders work together to foster a “National Campaign of Hope”, committed to a spiritual awakening to Christ throughout America. Foundational to this campaign is David’s seminal 480-page book on Christology titled CHRIST IS ALL! A Joyful Manifesto on the Supremacy of God’s Son (available at www.ChristIsAllBook.com). It incorporates 3-books-in-1: the first volume overviews the supremacy of Christ; volume two analyzes the “crisis of supremacy” inside the American church; volume three outlines practical strategies for implementing a “Campaign of Hope” anywhere that confronts and cures the crisis within churches and communities.
In all of these initiatives and resources, the major goal of PROCLAIM HOPE! remains: to empower the Church by awakening hope fully in the supremacy of Christ, encouraging God’s people to engage with God’s Son for ALL that He is.
A popular speaker and author, David Bryant holds graduate degrees in both Biblical Studies and Missiology. A senior pastor in Ohio for six years and a missions trainer for three years in southern California, he was also minister-at-large with the Madison (WI)-based Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship for twelve years. In 1988 David founded Concerts of Prayer International and guided it for the next 15 years before launching PROCLAIM HOPE! in 2003. David chaired America’s National Prayer Committee for nine years and currently holds a leadership role in a number of national coalitions related to prayer, revival and evangelism. In addition to his other writings are four key books: In the Gap: What It Means To Be a World Christian; With Concerts of Prayer: Christians United for Spiritual Awakening and World Evangelization; The Hope at Hand: National and World Revival for the 21st Century; and Messengers of Hope: Becoming Agents of Revival for the 21st Century.
David and his wife Robyne call metropolitan New York City their home.
Their three grown children, Adam, Bethany and Benjamin, were adopted as
infants from India.
